What Matters

The Challenge. A Gulf Coast refinery was fighting recurring seal failures on a critical charge-pump loop in their crude unit. Every unplanned trip cost hours of production, and the OEM replacement parts were on a 14-week lead time that the plant simply could not absorb.

The PATRIOT Approach. Our engineers were on site within 72 hours. We mapped the full process loop, identified a chronic mismatch between the existing pump curve and the plant's current operating envelope, and proposed a fully integrated skid — new API-610 pumps, upgraded mechanical seals, a redesigned baseplate, and a control panel tuned to the refinery's existing DCS. The entire package was built, wired, and factory-tested in-house before shipping.

The Result. The new skid was delivered in half the expected lead time and commissioned during a single planned shutdown. Six months in, the customer reports zero unplanned seal failures on this loop, a measurable drop in vibration-related work orders, and throughput slightly above the pre-incident baseline.

The Challenge. A municipal water utility serving more than 400,000 residents was running three aging booster stations that together consumed roughly 18% of the district's total power bill. Pumps were oversized for current demand, motors were running unthrottled, and SCADA visibility was limited to simple on/off states.

The PATRIOT Approach. We performed a full hydraulic study of the distribution network, right-sized the pumps to match real-world demand curves, and delivered three retrofit skids with premium-efficiency motors, variable-frequency drives, and a unified control panel that reports back to the utility's SCADA in real time. Installation was phased so that no station was ever fully offline.

The Result. Measured energy consumption across the three stations dropped 31% in the first full billing cycle, and the operations team now has remote visibility into flow, pressure, and motor health from a single dashboard. The project paid back its capital cost in under two years on energy savings alone.
