Manifolded pump packages deployed for a data center cooling loop flush

Flushing & Data Centers

When commissioning is on the clock, clean flow can’t be left to chance.

PATRIOT engineers manifolded, high-velocity flushing systems around each data center’s loop volume, pipe sizing, filtration requirements, and commissioning schedule. Tested, manifold-ready packages combine scalable flow, VFD control, staged filtration, compact footprints, and sound attenuation to clear construction debris, protect critical cooling equipment, and keep Level 4 and Level 5 commissioning moving forward.

Key Challenges

  1. 1 Mill scale, weld slag, and construction debris trapped in new chilled water and technical water piping destroy pump seals, foul plate heat exchangers, and clog direct-to-chip cooling microchannels.
  2. 2 Cleanliness specs demand sustained flush velocities of 5–8 ft/sec through every pipe section—far beyond what the permanent house pumps are designed to deliver.
  3. 3 Commissioning windows are unforgiving: a stalled flush holds up Level 4 and Level 5 commissioning and every trade scheduled behind it.
  4. 4 Flush water must pass staged filtration—typically 100 micron down to 10 micron—and turbidity verification before chillers, CDUs, and CRAH units can be started.
  5. 5 Live campuses and tight utility yards leave little room for noisy, oversized temporary equipment.

How PATRIOT Solves Them

  1. 1 Side-stream filtration staging captures mill scale, weld slag, and construction debris across repeated system turnovers, so it ends up in the filters instead of in pump seals, heat exchangers, and cooling microchannels.
  2. 2 Manifolded Patriot pump packages scale to the loop—multiple units tied into common headers deliver the combined flow to hold 5–8 ft/sec through mains, risers, and branch piping, well beyond what the permanent house pumps can deliver.
  3. 3 Packages arrive tested and manifold-ready, configured for your loop layout, so setup does not eat the commissioning schedule or hold up the trades behind it.
  4. 4 Electric VFD-driven packages dial flow and pressure to each stage—from the initial high-velocity purge through the 100-micron to 10-micron filtration passes—until turbidity verifies below spec and chillers, CDUs, and CRAH units can start.
  5. 5 Sound attenuated enclosures and compact skid footprints fit live campuses and tight utility yards without violating site noise limits.
